UROLOGY

Urology is a medical-surgical specialty that deals with the study, diagnosis and treatment of medical and surgical conditions of the urinary and retroperitoneal apparatus, in both sexes and the male genital tract, without age limit, motivated by congenital, traumatic diseases, septic, metabolic, obstructive and oncological.

Special attention must be given to the biological and technical foundations of urology, which facilitate the polyvalence of the urologist for assistance, research and teaching.

The relationship established by urology (diagnostic and therapeutic), with other specialties, which also intervene in the systems, apparatuses and anatomical areas mentioned, enriches the specialty and benefits the patient.
